The record-breaking wedding cake pair will appear in the \u201cQuintessence of Vietnam\u201d program \u2013 honoring the \u201cCom\u201d \u2013 \u201cPhu the\u201d cake pair as the 'Treasure of Vietnamese Craft Village Quintessence' and 'Collective Wedding in the New Lifestyle' organized in Hanoi.<\/em><\/p>\n

Creating this wedding cake pair requires highly skilled workers, with products carefully selected and of high quality from the input ingredient stage.<\/em><\/p>\n

Artisan Mai Dinh Luc (Production Director) stated: \u201cWe directly participated in producing the largest record-breaking Mooncake pair in Vietnam. Although we have previous experience, this \u201dCom' \u2013 'Phu the' cake pair is still a challenge for the team of artisans and bakers'.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Theo<\/a><\/div>\n

According to artisan Mai Dinh Luc, the biggest difficulty encountered when making this record-breaking Vietnamese wedding cake pair is the shaping stage. The difference in ingredients makes shaping the cake not easy at all.<\/em><\/p>\n

\""N\u1ebfu<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cIf sticky rice cakes or mooncakes have thick fillings and thin crusts, which are not hard to shape, \u201dCom' \u2013 'Phu the' cakes are very different. Because the specific characteristic of this type of cake is that it is very sticky and gooey, so we had to experiment many times to come up with the most accurate method' \u2013 artisan Mai Dinh Luc shared.<\/em><\/p>\n

Input ingredients are strictly controlled, for example, the 'com' is 'nep cai hoa vang' (yellow flower glutinous rice), and high-quality mung beans imported from raw material areas in Nghe An, granulated sugar...<\/em><\/p>\n

The cakes are made in separate stages. Just the process of kneading the 'com' is strictly checked and carried out by modern machinery.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cTo make this cake pair, nearly 20 artisans and bakers had to arrive at the workshop from 4:30 AM to start from the stages of heating the oven, pre-processing, and processing ingredients before moving on to shaping the cakes\u201d \u2013 artisan Mai Dinh Luc shared further.<\/em><\/p>\n

Previously, the artisans tried ways to shape and form the cakes using thin plastic wraps. This created adhesion and helped shape the cake, but the finished product did not meet aesthetic requirements.<\/em><\/p>\n

Due to the specific nature of the ingredients and the property of the cake being very sticky, the artisans had to perform the work separately for each layer before joining them together.<\/em><\/p>\n

The crust layers and mung bean filling that had just been spread out were placed separately on each layer of cellophane to prevent sticking.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Vi\u1ec7c<\/a><\/div>\n

The shaping and forming for the cake are carried out in a large stainless steel mold.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Nh\u1eefng<\/a><\/div>\n

The artisans will wrap a layer of non-stick paper around the inside of the mold and then place each layer of cake and filling in one by one and spread them evenly so that the filling fits perfectly within the cake crust. One cake will consist of 12 layers of filling and crust.<\/em><\/p>\n

Artisan Ngo Thi Tinh (General Director of Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company \u2013 the unit executing the largest wedding cake pair in Vietnam) shared: \u201cStemming from a love for cuisine in general and traditional confectionery of the nation in particular, we joined hands to make this cake pair as a symbol of the quintessence of traditional Vietnamese craft villages and as a bridge of happiness for the couples who will appear together in the collective wedding organized on October 15th.\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Theo<\/a><\/div>\n

According to artisan Ngo Thi Tinh, 'Com' \u2013 'Phu the' cakes have long been an indispensable offering for traditional Vietnamese weddings. In the near future, this record-breaking cake pair will be offered directly by 15 couples to their ancestors. Artisan Ngo Thi Tinh also hopes to convey to the younger generation a message about cherishing and honoring the traditional values of the nation.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\u0110\u1ed1i<\/a><\/div>\n

For 'Phu the' cakes, the nature of the ingredients has a shrinking property, so they must be made while hot and are much stickier than 'Com' cakes. Therefore, the process of making the record-breaking 'Phu the' cake also takes more time.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Sau<\/a><\/div>\n

After completion, the 'Phu the' cake must still be left in the mold, and the mold can only be removed after it has cooled.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Th\u00e0nh<\/a><\/div>\n

The finished 'Com' \u2013 'Phu the' cake pair is 70cm in diameter, 25cm high, and weighs up to 130kg.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mr. Thao Van Phuc (Representative of the Vietnam Records Organization) shared: \u201cToday, we came here and witnessed with our own eyes the process of making this special wedding cake pair. The cake pair with large size and weight has set the record as the largest \u201dCom' \u2013 'Phu the' cake pair in Vietnam and will receive the honoring certificate on October 15th. This is not just a cake pair but also the crystallization of the thousand-year-old traditional cultural values of the nation and the quintessence of Vietnamese handicraft villages'.<\/em><\/p>\n
