Honoring the record-breaking pair of mooncakes weighing 300kg
On the morning of August 24, at the pedestrian street around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ly Thai To monument, a procession of a giant traditional pair of mooncakes with a total weight of 300kg took place. The pair of cakes was recognized as the 2019 Vietnam record for the largest traditional pair of mooncakes.

The giant pair of mooncakes displayed at the Ly Thai To monument square attracted thousands of domestic and international visitors to see and take souvenir photos.
Accordingly, to create this giant pair of cakes, Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company had to spend more than 2 months preparing from the wooden molds, bases, to materials, and the “construction” of the cakes took one day, with the participation of more than 20 artisans from Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company, with more than 20 years of experience in the profession. Each cake is 0.95m in diameter, 0.2m thick, and weighs 150kg (totaling 300kg for the pair).
It is known that the ingredients for the cakes are all traditional ingredients such as: lotus seeds, pumpkin seeds, mung beans, melon seeds, sesame, Chinese sausage... The crust has a pattern of 'Double Dragons adoring the Moon'.

The Vietnam Record Association Central Committee awarded the certificate of record establishment for the largest pair of mooncakes in Vietnam in 2019 to Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company.
The largest pair of baked and sticky rice mooncakes in Vietnam were offered to the Ancestor of the trade at Ngoc Son Temple, then processed to the Square for display for people to admire. This is the highlight of the 2019 Mid-Autumn Festival season.
The giant pair of mooncakes will become a highlight for the full moon night, leaving an impression on guests, conveying a message of love, connecting families, and bringing the image of Vietnamese cuisine to the five continents.
At this event, Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company distributed more than 5,000 leaflets with images of the giant pair of cakes, their dimensions, and weight. And especially a very unique poem consisting of 8 stanzas talking about the meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the giant pair of cakes, and the dedication of the artisans put into this pair of cakes.

It is known that the giant pair of mooncakes will be used for charity purposes, bringing guests the opportunity to enjoy the traditional taste of the cakes and admire the largest cake in Vietnam right at the event.

Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company released more than 5,000 leaflets, with a very unique poem written about the pair of mooncakes that achieved the 2019 Vietnam record. The poem attracted many readers and tourists.
Ms. Ngo Thi Tinh - General Director of Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company said that the entire spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival is expressed in traditional baked and sticky mooncakes.

The exhibition event of the giant pair of mooncakes is expected to take place for 2 days, August 24-25, 2019, with many vibrant performances, and very interesting and unique folk games.
