On the afternoon of October 11, a press conference was held in Hanoi to introduce the “Vietnamese Quintessence” program, aimed at honoring the “Vietnamese Craft Village Quintessential Treasures” pair of cakes and the “Collective Wedding Following the New Lifestyle”.
The “Vietnamese Quintessence” program, honoring the “Com” (green rice) and “Phu The” (husband and wife) cake pair as 'Vietnamese Craft Village Quintessential Treasures' and the 'Collective Wedding Following the New Lifestyle', is organized by the Hanoi Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Federation of Hanoi.
This program is organized to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital and to summarize 10 years of implementing Directive No. 11-CT/TU of 2012 by the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee (XV term) on “Continuing to implement a civilized lifestyle in weddings in Hanoi City” (Directive No. 11).
Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Nguyen Mai Anh, Member of the Executive Committee and Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Hanoi Youth Union, stated: The program aims to raise awareness among union members, youth members, and all strata of the Capital's people about weddings following a civilized lifestyle; to promote the good traditional values of the nation, and to uphold a thrifty and civilized lifestyle among the youth.
At the same time, it aims to eliminate backward customs and habits in weddings and affirm that the “Collective Wedding Following the New Lifestyle” model is one of the typical initiatives of the Capital's youth in building elegant and civilized Hanoians.

Additionally, this event is also an occasion to honor the distinctive features of Vietnam's traditional culinary culture, especially the cuisine associated with traditional Vietnamese weddings through the 'Com' and 'Phu The' wedding cake pair.
Speaking at the press conference, artisan Ngo Thi Tinh said that the “Com” and 'Phu The' wedding cake pair is a 'Vietnamese Craft Village Quintessential Treasure', marking a new step forward in the traditional confectionery industry.
