Bao Minh Confectionery Makes Its Mark at the 2024 Hanoi OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Conference

On December 30, 2024, the Hanoi OCOP Council inaugurated the conference to evaluate and classify 118 potential 4-star and 5-star OCOP products. This is a significant event aimed at recognizing and honoring outstanding products, while fostering a more robust development of the OCOP program in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Chi, Standing Deputy Chief of the Office of the New Rural Development Coordination Office of Hanoi, emphasized: “Hanoi identifies OCOP as a highly significant program. Developing OCOP products aims to awaken the potential advantages of rural areas and increase income for residents. At the same time, the program contributes to restructuring the agricultural sector in connection with the development of cottage industries, trades, services, and rural tourism, promoting sustainable rural economic development.”

He also added that the OCOP program not only aims to preserve cultural values, biodiversity, and the rural landscape, but also promotes the application of digital transformation and the circular economy, contributing to building a more effective and sustainable new countryside.

In implementation of Plan No. 322/KH-UBND dated December 28, 2023 of the City People's Committee and Plan No. 21/KH-HĐOCOP dated February 27, 2024 of the City OCOP Council, it is expected that in 2024, Hanoi will evaluate and classify approximately 400 OCOP products.

Transparent and fair evaluation process

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chi, the steps for evaluating OCOP products are carried out thoroughly through multiple levels: from provincial-level appraisal, practical inspection of facilities, and quality analysis, to the central level organizing evaluation and announcing results. Products that meet standards will be granted certificates and honored at the national level.

To ensure transparency and objectivity, Mr. Nguyen Van Chi requested that Council members strictly follow the criteria specified in Decision No. 148/QD-TTg dated February 24, 2023 of the Prime Minister and the Operating Regulations of the City OCOP Council during the evaluation process.
