People often liken teachers to devoted boatmen, “unsung heroes” who spend their entire lives guiding students to the shore of human knowledge. Every day, quietly leaving early and returning late to bring literacy and life lessons to students, teachers spare no effort and always strive to fulfill their duties well. We have grown up today not only thanks to the birth and upbringing of our parents but also largely thanks to the nurturing of those respectable teachers.

Teachers kindly teach students new knowledge and good lessons
When we first started toddling into grade 1, it was the teachers who held our hands to write each letter carefully, teaching us our first introductory lessons. Teachers loved us like their own little children, comforting us when we were scared and crying because we had to leave our mothers' arms. When we did not yet recognize letters, nor could we do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on our own, it was also the teachers who patiently instructed us with a mother's compassionate heart, loving gaze, and affectionate smile.
Or even when we are older and studying at higher levels, teachers are still the ones who always closely follow and directly impart knowledge to us as they did in the first days of school. With their pedagogical expertise, teachers have turned dry, difficult-to-understand knowledge in textbooks into things that are vivid, easy to understand, and closer to students. From complex, tough math problems to famous literary works or heroic historical events, all are thoroughly researched, systematized, and conveyed by teachers to help students understand and remember easily.

Teachers do not hesitate to stay up late and wake up early to find ways to impart knowledge to students
To be able to impart knowledge to students in the best way, many teachers do not mind staying up late and waking up early to prepare lesson plans, participating in after-hours classes to improve their professional knowledge, as well as staying after school to listen to and answer students“ questions. It is this silent sacrifice and dedication of teachers that has created the image of the ”navigator of the boat of knowledge“ carrying the great stature and mission of contributing the most essential things to the development of society, worthy of the valuable words of the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong about the ”noblest of all noble professions'.
It is because of gratitude for the effort of “For the benefit of ten years of planting trees – For the benefit of a hundred years of growing people” of teachers that the Government of Vietnam decided to choose November 20th every year as Vietnamese Teachers' Day. This is a special meaningful day of the year, an occasion to honor those in the teaching profession, an opportunity for former and current students to express their respect and gratitude to their respectable teachers.

On Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20th, every road is filled with the colors of flowers to express gratitude to teachers
Every year, as November 20th approaches, we can see that everywhere is filled with brilliant flowers as a greeting and gratitude for the contributions of teachers. For former students as well as parents, a bouquet of fresh flowers or a meaningful gift is a substitute for thousands of words to express the love and respect for those who have been and are fulfilling well the responsibility of “nurturing green knowledge” for society.
On the occasion of November 20th, each of us students can give teachers meaningful gifts such as shirts, watches, wallets/leather belts, cosmetics, shampoo, or traditional confectionery products with delicious flavors and eye-catching colors. Types of cakes such as bánh cốm, banh khao, banh cha, pia cake, che lam… from Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company are an excellent choice because they possess all the criteria of delicious – beautiful – traditional, suitable to be used as gifts. This will certainly be a wonderful, meaningful gift that students can give to their teachers as a deep expression of gratitude to those in the teaching profession – the noblest of all noble professions!

A meaningful gift as a substitute for deep thanks to respectable teachers
