Since ancient times, our ancestors have used glutinous rice flour to create a cake with a chewy, soft, and transparent crust, blended with coconut strands that symbolize the red threads binding two hearts together. The filling is made from mung bean and fragrant, creamy coconut milk.
The cake is sweet but not cloying, aromatic but not overpowering; the more you eat, the more “addicted” you become, much like the bond between husband and wife—loyal and inseparable, where the longer you stay together, the more you feel the depth of love and the difficulty of parting.
For this reason, this cake is called Banh Phu The – Husband and Wife Cake, used in wedding ceremonies of the Vietnamese people.
Additionally, Bao Minh has updated the packaging so that the cake is not only used for weddings but also for daily consumption and as a gift for relatives and friends.
