On the occasion of celebrating the 68th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day and summarizing 10 years of implementing Directive No. 11 of the Hanoi Party Committee (term XV) on “Continuing to implement a civilized lifestyle in weddings in Hanoi”. This is a practical activity, contributing to building the image of elegant, civilized Hanoians and preserving traditional cultural features in the nation's cuisine.
Due to the nature of the cakes being flexible and sticky, making them difficult to shape, the artisans had to cook the ingredients before shaping them.

Instead of making one large piece, the artisans had to spread the cake into separate layers of crust and filling before assembling and shaping them.

Present at the implementation of this special pair of cakes, Dr. Thang Van Phuc, former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of the Vietnam Record Holders Association, shared: “We came here and witnessed with our own eyes the process of making this special wedding cake pair. The pair of cakes has a large size and weight that has set a record as the largest pair of Com – Phu the cakes in Vietnam and will receive a certificate of honor on October 15. This is not simply a pair of cakes, but also a crystallization of the eternal traditional cultural values of the nation and the quintessence of Vietnamese traditional craft villages.'“.

Pair of Com cake – Phu the cake This record has a diameter of 70cm, a height of 25cm, weighing 130kg/piece, with the participation of 20 workers and artisans of Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company. Just the finishing and shaping stage alone took more than 3 hours.

In traditional Vietnamese weddings, especially in the Northern region, Com cake and Phu the cake are often chosen by the groom's family as wedding engagement gifts to bring to the bride's family.
Phu the cake symbolizes loyalty and the union of two people, so it is named “phu the” which means husband and wife, is a symbol of the sun, and represents the negative pole, while the green wedding Com cakes are an image representing the sun and symbolizing the positive pole. A wedding day with both positive and negative will create harmony and balance, also following the hope for a harmonious, full, happy, and prosperous life for the couple.
The image of Com cake – Phu the cake frequently appears in wedding ceremonies, especially for residents in the Northern region.

Previously, on October 15 and 16, 2022, at the Ba Kieu temple area, next to the “Determined to sacrifice for the Fatherland” Monument and around the Ho Guom Walking Street area (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi), young couples participating in organizing weddings according to the city's new lifestyle performed incense offering rituals, offering the 'Pair of Com cake – Phu the cake 'Quintessence of Vietnamese craft villages'' made by artisan Ngo Thi Tinh – General Director of Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company at King Ly Thai To Monument and Ba Kieu Temple on the morning of October 15. After the incense and cake offering ceremony, at the main stage of the program, representatives of sponsors will present wedding rings to the couples, while the couples participate in wedding photography activities around the Hoan Kiem Lake area.
During the 2 days of the program, around the main stage area, activities of experiencing making Com cake and Phu the cake, visiting traditional craft village booths, booths of companion units... will be organized for tourists and residents of the Capital to participate and experience.
Previously, in 2019, Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company also set a Vietnam Record with the largest pair of moon cakes (baked and soft), with each cake having a height of 20 cm, a diameter of 95 cm, and weighing 150 kg.
