Legend has it that the love triangle between Son Tinh, Thuy Tinh, and Princess My Nuong caused a cataclysmic war, leaving the people and all living things in misery. The mountain god, Son Tinh, won the battle and was able to marry the beautiful Princess My Nuong. Son Tinh and My Nuong, with their love for the people, could not help but feel distressed that their romance had caused such suffering. They happened to discover a variety of young sticky rice with a fragrant, fresh aroma like a mother's milk born for her child.
